Eminent Person. When most people are asked to define this, they’d likely respond with “ a very important and influential person” or “ someone to look up to, a role model”
Now, if you ask a student in the TALONS program the definition of Eminent Person, they will tell you something along the lines of: “ A yearly undertaking that involves an interesting and extensive accumulation of research about the people we have admired for centuries.”
To start off this journey of thorough investigation, students are asked to go forth, use their skills to the best of their abilities and find a person to interview.
The person they interview, could be the head of a foundation, a university professor that specializes in your Eminent Person’s field, or even the Eminent Person themselves!
The reason the Eminent interview is conducted, is to get past the dry information that a Wikipedia article will give you. Instead TALONS students have access to personal opinions, likes, dislikes and the stories that such an important person will gather over time.
